Mark Eaton is a writer and director who got his start creating imaginative Super 8mm short films and skateboarding videos. Early on he created the music-based Dragging the Lake Video Magazine, directing & editing multi-camera live performance pieces and short docs for bands such as Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed & Cambria, Brand New, Box Car Racer, Sick Of It All, Finch, Cursive and many more. He moved on to directing multiple music-based television episodes for shows such as Making the Video for MTV and 7th Ave Drop for FUSE.
Eaton was soon directing & editing music videos of his own for the band Angels & Airwaves, creating a signature visual style to match their iconic space-rock sound, and his videos were featured on MTV and FUSE. His passion for visual narratives continued, writing/directing his own original shorts as well as directing Start the Machine, a feature documentary, and producing visionary director William Eubank's (Land of Bad, Underwater) first narrative feature, the award winning independent sci-fi film, Love.
Eaton was also selected as a Film Independent Screenwriting Fellow as well as an SF Film/Sloan Science in Cinema Filmmaking Fellow, both for a feature film script penned with writing partner Ron Najor.
For more than 15 years Eaton has leveraged a strong visual background and a passion for storytelling to cultivate, shepherd and drive projects from concept to post-production and onto the screen. Between writing, directing, producing and editing (edited all videos on this website), this experience has made him uniquely qualified to integrate all aspects of cinematic storytelling and his filmmaking work has been featured in theaters, on Netflix, Prime Video, MTV, VH1, FUSE, the Jeffreytron in NY Times Square and has tallied millions of streaming views and online impressions.
In pursuit of unforgettable short-form content, he has directed dozens of music videos in addition to numerous commercials, promotional pieces, branded content, short films and documentary shorts for a number of artists and brands including: Blink-182, Tom DeLonge, Angels & Airwaves, Against Me, Wild Rivers, To The Stars Media, James Coffee Co., Good Old War, Macbeth Footwear and many more, bringing a careful balance of spirit and design to their collaborations.
In 2021 Eaton built a Disneyland Star Tours attraction for his kids and the story went viral.
